How much for a piece of Obama? Plus, love and PETA

Am I the only one who won’t spend $150,000 on a car? I’m not talking a swanky full of testosterone sports car…nope…..I’m talking a Chrysler 300C. Hello! I can get one of those for 27 Grand…give Detroit a few more months and the price might drop under $20,000. So what car is worth that kind of money? President Elect Barack Obama’s old car. The dude who owns it picked it up after Obama turned his lease in on it. Guy has it ebay…current bid, $150 thousand. I know it’s a piece of history…but so are the pants he wore last year. I mean if we’re going to start selling things he’s owned/used…how about his math book from 7th grade…or that chair he put out by the curb for the trash. Come one lets get real…the election of Barack Obama IS A HISTORIC moment, but don’t waste your money on things he owned before he was president. The baseball bat that Babe Ruth hit his 60th home-run with is worth something…the 59 bats he use before that are just bats that happen to hit a ball. If you want to spend a truckload of cash on something historic wait until President Elect Obama shortens his title to President Obama…then you can start buying the chair he sat in, the razor he shaved with, the shaving cream that’s filled with his beard stubble….

Have you started planning for Valentines Day yet? I just got a reprieve from impressing Tracey…our small group at church decided to get together and have a group dinner. Sure the guys are going to cook but it should be cheaper then going out to a ritzy restaurant…and splitting a dozen roses four ways is a lot cheaper! Oh yeah, the wives said we can’t cook pizza/dogs/burgers/ribs or chicken…and they banned us from using the grill, the smoker and anything that comes prepared. Maybe going out to dinner would have been easier!

Someone give me a soapbox!!!

I’m a dog lover. My dog Casey is 10 years old. Sonor lived for 12 years and Topper was 11 when he passed away. I’ve called Animal Control of neighbors who have treated their dogs cruely and I’ve lost count of the number of strays that have spent a night in my garage while I tried to track down their owners…I love dogs (well except chihuahuas…and I haven’t met one that likes me so the feelings mutual) Here’s my beef…PETA tried to mess with Beyonce claiming she abandoned her dog with the folks at her management company, but after examining the evidence they’ve backed down. I’m sure it kept but them up all night wondering if the pampered pooch was getting fed enough designer organic food and sleeping in a toasty warm bed…maybe now they have time to worry about all the dogs that get abandoned on the side of cold, wet roads in Real America. No wait…they don’t care about those dogs…because those dogs belong to the people that can’t get them the headlines that they crave.  I guess we’ll have to leave caring for 99.8% of the dogs in this country to you and me and the .2% that belong to celebrities to PETA…boy, those folks are so caring.
